Barking dog....!

Barking dog....!

Checking your dogs barking is a major responsibility as an owner. At the end of the day, excessive barking can be annoying not only for you but also for your neighbours.

Why bark?

First we must try to know   why your dog barks. Barking is a form of communication of our dogs and usually he is trying to communicate something to its congeners and owners. They can also bark when hungry, thirsty, wants to go out or just wants to play. If this exceeds the reasonable limits, it is time to teach other ways to get your attention.

Many dogs bark when they see other animals, to invite them to play together which is normal, but it is you who has to decide how much barking is acceptable, teach your dog to be patient and wait before playing do not let them begin the game until they calm down ..

My dog is home alone: A problem

Your dog may bark if left alone. Try to let the music set or radio to provide a human sound that is familiar. You can also give some toys that require additional attention and work to keep them busy while you're gone.

A good way to reduce anxiety is to give your dog an old piece of clothing without washing or anything with a strong smell of his family.

Maybe your dog has a syndrome   "Separation Anxiety". This is usually accompanied by other signs such as breaking household objects, urinating and defecating in the house when this is unusual and it only happens in the absence of their owners. While owners are at home the dog behaves radically different and never "breaks a plate." Consult your veterinarian if you notice these symptoms they need something more than a re-education to correct these bad habits.

The watchdog

One of the most common reasons why a dog is barking is to warn. If your dog sees someone approaching the house, he barks to let you know. As you see at the head of the pack, you will want to investigate.

Some dogs have been trained to raise the alarm and you may want to encourage this behaviour. Let your dog barks to get your attention but do keep quiet after ensuring that there is no intruder.

Why you do not shut up...?

One way to teach your dog the command "shut up" is to silence him or distract him whenever he barks. Use something that makes a lot of noise to get his attention and then speak firmly ordered to "shut up".

When the dog stops barking, praise him and give him a treat. Never shout if you want it to stop barking as it can cause anxiety and affect learning. It can easily confuse your dog it might think you are also barking. Shouting only reinforces the habit of barking.

The training is always the best way to correct your dog's behaviour.

If the barking persists, your veterinarian may give you additional tips and even suggest other techniques.
